Mission The Board of Directors primary functions will be: To establish and strengthen ties between alumni and other friends of History; To advise and assist in fund raising with the department's Centennial, and later, with other external relations endeavors; and To establish and build ties in the community to promote history and the university. Goal To provide the means for students to receive an outstanding education in history. First, we need to provide funding to those students struggling to stay in school due to limited personal financial resources. Second, we recognize that classroom education is only a one part of the student's education and to offer a truly outstanding educational experience we need to provide opportunities for learning through other methods in other arenas. This includes providing funds for travel, research, community outreach, faculty/student interaction, and increased technology support.
