    Applications for history scholarships are available at: History Department Office Social Sciences 215

    1. Grace B. & Robert A. Cosgrove Endowment Scholarship

      The recipient shall be an undergraduate History major who is in his/her senior year at the University of Arizona. To be eligible for this award, students must be in good academic standing (have a history minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.7 and an overall grade point average of 3.5) and making satisfactory progress towards their Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Award preference will be given to an honors student. The selection will be made by the Department of History and will be subject to the approval of the Office of Student Financial Aid.

    2. Loretta R. & Joseph F. Cummings Endowment Fund

      The recipient shall be an undergraduate History major who is in his/her junior year at the University of Arizona. To be eligible for this award, students must be in good academic standing (have a history minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.7 and an overall grade point average of 3.5) and making satisfactory progress towards their Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Award preference will be given to an honors student. The selection will be made by the Department of History and will be subject to the approval of the Office of Student Financial Aid.

    3. William J. DeLong Memorial Scholarship

      This award is given to an undergraduate History major who is entering their junior or senior year. To be eligible for this award students must have a minimum gpa of 3.0; exemplify a strong commitment to civic ideals and public service through extra-curricular activities; and be making satisfactory progress towards their Bachelor of Arts degree in History.

    5. William H. Hesketh Endowment Fund

      To be eligible for this award, (1) an undergraduate student must be enrolled in his/her History capstone course and (2) a graduate student must be enrolled in the graduate program in History and must have taken and passed his/her comprehensive exams. Recipients shall be selected by a committee consisting of the Head of the Department of History, University of Arizona, and one or two senior History faculty members selected by the Head of the Department. Funds are only to be used to support research (e.g., travel, per diem, access fees, etc.) or to deliver a paper at a conference or similar professional gathering that enables the student to be introduced to the History community.

    6. Lute Olson Scholarship

      To be eligible for this award, the student must be a history undergraduate in the -College of Education with a minimum grade point average of 3.0, or is a graduated history major pursuing a post-Baccalaureate teaching certificate. The selection will be made by the Department of History and will be subject to the approval of the Department Head and the Office of Student Financial Aid. Number and amount shall vary according to the distribution from the endowment.

    7. History Undergraduate Scholarship Endowment

      The recipient shall be an undergraduate History major who is in his/her junior year at the University of Arizona. To be eligible for this award, students must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0, making satisfactory progress towards their Bachelor of Arts degree in History and in need of financial assistance to continue their education. The selection will be made by the Department of History and will be subject to the approval of the Office of Student Financial Aid.

    8. J. Robert Vignery Endowment Fund

      The recipient shall be an undergraduate History major enrolled at the University of Arizona. To be eligible for the award, students must have a distinguished academic record and financial need. The awardee to be appointed in the spring semester for the following year and renewable for a second academic year, if appointee remains eligible. (Only the interest earned from the principal account will be awarded each year.)
